Paul Dannels FAIA, Partner

In his role at SDI Structures, Paul conceives innovative structural solutions for buildings on behalf of both aspiring and accomplished architects. His many clients value his ability to quickly grasp complex architectural intentions and effectively render them in structural form. His designs have earned five IDEAS2 Awards from the American Institute of Steel Construction, the industry’s highest engineering honor for buildings constructed with steel. 

Paul served as the 2014 President for AIA Michigan. He has taught at the University of Detroit and Lawrence Technological University.

Anders Sjogren PE, Partner

Anders is a leader in the planning and engineering of collegiate athletics projects, as well as higher education, K-12, and healthcare facilties. He has developed close working relationships with educational institutions he has served, and has been instrumental in the development and implementation of innovative BIM practices, particularly in the areas of structural steel procurement, fabrication, and erection.

At SDI he directs BIM standards and documentation standards and maintains SDI's leadership in technology and digital communications.

Peter Heeringa PE SE, Partner

Peter brings exceptional insights on academic and institutional structures gained from project experience throughout the United States and the Middle East. He enjoys working closely with team members to develop efficient and constructable designs while promoting the vision of the architect and owner.

At SDI Peter is responsible for engineering and analysis standards, maintaining the office commitment to code development and emerging construction technologies.

Bill Toy PE SE, Partner

Bill has extensive experience in both institutional and commercial building design. He is committed to sensible efficiency in his engineering work and and is heavily engaged in matters of professional practice and office standards

Bill earned his structural engineering degrees at California Polytechnic State University and was a leader in a west coast consulting firm before returning his family to the Midwest.
