Special attention to the vocabulary of light frame construction combined with expertise in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber equips. sdi is an essential team member for numerous architects and builders around the state of Michigan. sdi’s structural framing of a northern Michigan home helped earn its architect, Betsy Wiliams, a 2002 North American Wood Design Award. That home and others engineered by sdi have won both state and chapter AIA Honor Awards and have been published in national journals.
